Project Description
The project “Income Disparities Between Employers in the Swedish Labor Market: Changes, Causes, and Distributional Consequences” investigates differences in wage setting between employers in the Swedish labor market. Using linked data on employers and employees from Statistics Sweden's population register, we analyze how these differences have developed in the Swedish labor market since 1990 and how they contribute to income disparities among different groups of employees.
Job Responsibilities
The researcher will contribute to the development of research questions and analytical methods, conduct advanced statistical analyses, and participate in writing scientific publications and research reports for publication in sociology and related fields. The job responsibilities also include contributing to collaboration with the surrounding community.
Eligibility Requirements
A researcher is primarily employed for research and must have obtained a doctoral degree or have a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a doctoral degree.
Assessment Criteria
The applicant must have obtained a doctoral degree in sociology, economics, or a related field with a significant component of statistical methods. Special emphasis will be placed on experience analyzing administrative population data and an ongoing research agenda on economic inequality, job polarization, and income distribution, including its development over time. Additionally, experience applying or developing methods for panel data, causal inference, and statistical decomposition will be considered. Evidence of these skills in the form of scientific publications or policy reports is highly valued. Experience working in interdisciplinary or policy-focused research environments is an asset.
About the Employment
The position is for 40% of full-time and is permanent with a six-month probationary period. Start date is 2026-03-01 or by agreement.
